正月初一行祖庙，是佛山人春节最主要的习俗。祖庙是佛山诸庙之首，北帝被奉为佛山人的“大父母”，正月初一“行祖庙，拜北帝”是佛山延续至今最为隆重的民间风俗。很多人为了争得头炷香，会在行完花街之后，就到祖庙去排队拜北帝，许愿祈福。
At the beginning of the first lunar month, one of the most important customs of the Spring Festival in Foshan is going to the Ancestral Temple, which is the head of temples in Foshan. 南海乐安花灯会至今已有300多年的历史，在每年的正月初九举行。每年灯会趁墟的人群总是络绎不绝，他们都在仔细地品味着乐安花灯的非遗手艺。此外，想要求子的夫妇不妨去体验一下当地“坐生仔石”的民间习俗，相传非常灵验。

佛山南海的大沥狮子会是醒狮竞技的大集会，会期是每年农历正月十四。这时，醒狮云集，狮队多来自附近的三水、番禺、顺德、花都等地，醒狮最多时达600多头。会上各狮队同场竞技献艺，进行采青、比武、武术等表演。比赛时锣鼓震天，鞭炮声不绝于耳，场面十分热闹！喜爱醒狮表演的你千万不能错过！

“行通济，无闭翳”。正月十六行通济是佛山独有的祈福习俗，意为行完通济，便没有烦恼，事事顺利。“行通济”寄托着佛山人对美好生活的憧憬和祝愿，要更好地迎接新的一年。每年的农历正月十六，家家户户便会自发来到通济桥，举着风车、摇着风铃、提着生菜浩浩荡荡地由北到南走过通济桥，祈求来年顺顺利利、万事胜意。
"Crossing Tongji Bridge, trouble goes away.” Crossing Tongji Bridge on the 16th lunar day is Foshan’s unique blessing custom, which implies everything goes well after taking part in the activity. Crossing Tongji Bridge is entrusted with Foshan people’s longing for a better life and wish to meet a better new year. 南海本地最独特的元宵活动，当数里水赤山村的“跳火光”，这个民俗至今已有300多年的历史。人们腾高一跃穿过火堆，有着去除一年晦气，祈求新年顺利的寓意！

狮山官窑生菜会
Lettuce Party
农历正月二十六，在狮山官窑将会有墟撼的万人生菜会，祈求新一年顺景，丁财两旺。

生菜在汉语中被称为“生菜”，“生”指生孩子或生机勃勃，而“菜”指的是财富，因此，参加生菜会是人们对财富和添丁生子的愿望。
Lettuce is pronounced as "Sheng Cai"(生菜) in Chinese. "Sheng" means giving birth or being vigorous while "Cai" refers to fortune and wealth. Thus, the purpose of holding lettuce party becomes wishes for fortune and babies.
